After completing the immigration process to enter Chile, you must have your complete SAG Affidavit available to hand in or show the SAG Inspector since your luggage will be inspected.
Luggage inspection can be done in three ways:
SAG Canine Brigade Detector team (dog detector with its SAG guide). This inspection does not require the luggage to be opened, unless the dog makes a suspicion alert, in which case the SAG Official will ask the person responsible for the luggage to open it in order to verify its contents.

X-ray machines operated by a SAG Official. This inspection does not require the luggage to be opened, unless a suspicious image is observed, in which case the person responsible for the luggage will be asked to open it in order to verify its contents.

Manual inspection. The SAG Official asks the person responsible for the luggage to open it in order to review its content manually. This inspection may be complementary to the previous two.

If through any of these methods a risk product for animals, plants or forests in Chile is detected, the SAG Officials will prevent their entry and will be eliminated in full. By doing this the SAG seeks to prevent possible transmission and dissemination of pests and diseases within the country.
